Glasgow

Just over an hour by car, or drive to Dunblane and take the train in to the centre, Glasgow is a vibrant city with great shopping and a really happening arts scene.

My top tips are:

  • for shopping, there are a lot of designer stores on Buchanan Street including Princes Square
  • the Burrell Collection displays a fantastic selection of arts and antiques, including some stunning embroideries, in a great location
  • visit the Kelvingrove art gallery and museum
  • head to the second hand markets of the Barras, from traditional flea market to quality antiques

If anyone out there wants to post their recommendations in the Comments box, please do so
